    NOCTURIA

    Nocturia isl the situation where the person is raised from sleep in order to urinate.

    WHAT ARE THE MOST COMMON CAUSES?
    Nocturia usually occurs when the person has increased urination both day and night.
    Such conditions are:
    -Bladder cancer.
    -Stone formation in the bladder.
    -Diabetes.
    -Diuretics.
    -Excessive consumption of caffeine or alcohol.
    -Cystitis.
    -Kidney infection.
    -Overactive bladder.
    -Prostate Hyperplasia.
    -Prostatitis.
    - Radiotherapy in the abdominal region and pelvis.

    WHEN DO WE HAVE NOCTURIA WITHOUT DAILY FREQUEN URINATION?
    There are situations where the patient has normal number of micturitions during the day but rises at night to urinate.

    Possible causes are:
    -Heart Failure.
    -Venous insufficiency.
    - Obstructive sleep apnea.
    -Dyspnoia.
    -Depression.
    -Very high fluid intake before sleep.
    - Alcoho intakel before bed.
